Ronald “Steve” Stephen Parks, 58, a resident of Churchland, passed away Saturday, April 22, 2023, in Rowan Medical Center in Salisbury. Steve was born on July 24, 1964, to the late William Jackson and Linda Spicer Parks. He worked for East Rowan High School for many years. Steve enjoyed old cars and anything to do with them, including building models and collecting Hot Wheels. He was a fan of Sci-fi, making things with his 3D printer, and was an animal lover. Steve was a longtime member of Smith Grove Baptist Church in Linwood. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Randy Parks.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, April 27, 2023, at 5:00PM at Smith Grove Baptist Church with Pastor Terry Smith officiating. The family will greet friends beginning at 4:00PM at Smith Grove Baptist Church, and prior to the service, and at other times at the home of Bonnie Byerly. In lieu of flowers, please direct memorials to the church, 3462 Sowers Road, Linwood, NC 27299. Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington is assisting the family.
Left to cherish Steve’s memory is his wife, Annette Parks, of the home; daughters, Anna Scott (Jerry Scott, III) of Charlotte and Holly Leffew (William Leffew) of Churchland; a sister, Tammy Barnak (Wayne Barnak) of Lexington; sister-in-law, Evelyn Parks (Scott Parks) of South Carolina; nephews, Joey Parks and Aaron Parks; nieces, Leann Barnak, Katie Hammond, and Allison Barnak; his “adopted mother”, Bonnie Byerly; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and his beloved furry companions, Captain and Todd.
