Ronald Lee Warfford, 64, of Linwood Southmont Road, went home to be with his Lord Thursday, August 16, 2007, at Forsyth Medical Center following a serious illness of one week.
The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Stoner’s Grove Baptist Church, where he was a member, by the Rev. Billy Pearson. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with burial rites by Southmont Fire Department.
Mr. Warfford was born in Davidson County on July 22, 1943, to George Edwin Warfford and Myrtle Owen Warfford. He was a former purchaser at Proctor & Schwartz for 37 years and Project Expeditor at Southern Interiors Plus. He was a member of Southmont Fire Department for more than 40 years. At his church he was a Sunday school teacher, deacon, Sunday school superintendent, treasurer, member of the choir, and assistant treasurer.
Surviving are his wife, Elaine Fisher Warfford of the home; daughter, Amy Warfford Briggs and husband, Scott, of Lexington; grandchildren, Caleb Briggs and Leigha Briggs; brother, Clarence Warfford and wife, Linda, of Lexington; and a sister, Janice Tysinger of Lexington.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home.
