Ronda Rider Holmes

Mrs. Ronda Rider Holmes, 77, of Fox Run View Lane, died Thursday, September 3, 2026, at Hinkle Hospice Home.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, September 6, 2026, at Davidson Funeral Chapel, Lexington, with Rev. Sandy Young and Rev. Amy Higgins officiating. Interment will follow in Center Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

She was born on September 6, 1948, in Davidson County, to the late Aster Ray Rider, Sr. and Velna Summey Rider.

Mrs. Holmes worked in banking for many years was known as the best and quickest teller wherever she worked. She was a lifelong churchgoer, loved singing in the choir, and visiting nursing homes to sing to the elderly. Mrs. Holmes also enjoyed singing along to Patsy Cline and sounded just like her. She had a passion for shopping. Mrs. Holmes was always a very compassionate person, caring for others, and her animals.

Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Paul W. Holmes; a brother, Aster (Sonny) Ray Rider, Jr. of Lexington; a niece, Kara Lewis (Alex); a nephew, Harrison Rider; a great-nephew, Oleander Lewis; and a great-niece, Azelea Lewis.
