Ronnie Clyde Hayes, 73, of South Ford Street, died Wednesday, November 16, 2011, at Brian Center of Lexington.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday, November 19, 2011, at Pilgrim Freewill Baptist Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. James Messer officiating. Burial with military graveside rites will follow in Lexington City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, November 18, 2011, at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home of Ronnie Hayes on John T. Farabee Lane.
Mr. Hayes was born September 4, 1938, in Columbus County, to Clyde Davis Hayes and Gracie Strickland Hayes. He was retired from Lexington Furniture Industries and had served in the U.S. Army. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Lloyd Dean Hayes; daughter, Janice Bivens; a grandson, David Bruce Bivens; and brother, C.J. Hayes.
Surviving are his wife, Annie Todd Hayes of Brian Center; sons, Darren Hayes and wife, Loretta, Ronnie Dale Hayes and wife, Gail, Kenny Hayes and wife, Pamela, and Vernon Hayes and wife, Deborah, all of Lexington; 16 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; brothers, L.C. Hayes and wife, Emmogene, of Winston-Salem, John Buddy Davis Hayes, Harry Lee Hayes and wife, Esther, Tommy Hayes and wife, Dorothy, Roy Lee Hayes and wife, Sylvia, and James Hayes and wife, Sherry, all of Lexington; sisters, Judy Roseberry and husband, Ronnie, and Darlene Hedrick and husband, Jackie, both of Lexington; son-in-law, David Bivens; and sister-in-law, Peggy Hayes of Lexington.
