Ronny Schaefer

Howard “Ronny” Ronald Kai Schaefer, 53, passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2023, after a hard-fought battle with cancer. He was born August 28, 1969 to Ronald Howard and Kaianna Thomas Schaefer. He was known to be a “jack of all trades” having worked for various places, including RCR Racing. Ronny enjoyed hunting, working on cars, specifically Fords, and traveling to the beach with his family, (even though he really wasn’t a fan of the beach), and spending time in Ellerbe, his second home. He was a man who loved his family immensely. He especially loved watching his son, Owen, play basketball. Ronny was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Schaefer, his father, and father-in-law James Kearns.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 1, 2023 at 2:00 PM in Macedonia United Methodist Church with Rev. Tammy Talbert officiating. The family will greet friends Tuesday evening from 6-8 PM at Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington. Interment will follow the service in the church cemetery. Left to cherish Ronny’s memory is his son, Owen Schaefer, of the home; “Momma” Jane Kearns of Southmont; sisters, Kathy Allen (Ed “Mahoney”) of Montvale, VA and Bobbi-Jo Tutterow of Lexington; nephews, Jonathon Allen (Sarah), T.J. Allen (Emily), and Jace Tutterow; nieces, Alyse Nester (Matt), Kelli Kosiba (Nathan), and Abrianna Tutterow; great-nephews, Connor and Tyler, a great-niece, Brooke; brother-in-law, Michael Kearns; godchildren, Jackson and Haley; and special friends, Sam and Brandon Hilton, John and Betty Parsons, Mark and Daria Westervelt, and many others.
