Rosa Edna Wilbourne Allen

April 2, 1934 — July 9, 2025

Rosa Edna Wilbourne Allen, 91, of Salisbury, NC, went to be with the Lord on July 9, 2025, with family by her side.  She was born in South Boston, VA. Mrs. Allen was the 6th of 13 children to the late John Oliver Wilbourne and Rosa Lee Matthews Wilbourne.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her 2nd son, Billy Joe Allen; grandson, Leonard Everett Allen; her siblings, Susan Wilbourne, Sallie Wilbourne Holbrook, John Wilbourne, Frank Wilbourne, Annie Wilbourne Owen, Mary “Alice” Wilbourne Harris, Henry Wilbourne, Mamie Wilbourne Regan, Bettie Wilbourne Oha, and Pattie Wilbourne Frick.

She was a member of Solid Rock Baptist Church in Spencer, NC.

She is survived and loved by her husband, Leonard Thomas Allen, Sr., oldest son, Leonard Thomas Allen Jr., daughter, Constance Allen Jain, and two sisters, Fannie Mary Wilbourne and Lizzie Jane Wilbourne Wilder; five grandchildren: Kerry Morgan McCain; Stella Jo Allen; Cynthia Ann Allen Haxton; Zack and Alan King, and many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

She was loved by all that met her and spoke pointed and direct truth. A talented cake and flower decorator with an eye for beauty. Also, an amazing seamstress who made over 150 quilts, clothing and other items for family and friends. She worked hard her whole life on farms, in several factories, and other odd jobs to support her family.

There will only be a funeral service at Davidson Funeral Home Lexington Chapel, 301 N. Main St. Lexington, NC 27292 on Saturday, July 12th, 2025, at 4 pm, with a private interment to be buried near her grandson, Leonard Everett Allen and other siblings.

In lieu of flowers, please plant a fruit tree in her memory.
