Mrs. Rosalind Smith Walker of Sidney Street, Lexington, N.C., passed away at Piney Grove Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Tuesday, June 23, 2026.
She was born to David Hampton Smith and Lillie Money Smith on July 6. 1935. She was a member of North Lexington Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Audrey Hardin and Davy Lee Smith. Also preceded in death by her husband, Joe A Walker, her beloved son Dana A Walker, daughter-in-law Tamara Moorefield Walker, grandson Phillip A Walker and nephews Jeffrey Smith and Randall Hardin.
She is survived by her grand-daughter Courtney Williams and husband Brandon. Three precious, beautiful great granddaughters, Jada Knipp, Sophie and Payton Williams. She is also survived by nephews, Bryan Smith (Debbie) and family of Lexington. NC., Laura Smith and sons Colton and Clinton of Winston Salem, NC., Lonnie Hardin (Laura) and family of Florida, (Vickie) Hardin, of Kingsport, TN. Niece Martha Richie of Lexington, NC. Nephew Mark Wilson (Penny) and Deanna of Lexington, NC.
Rosalind and her husband were avid campers for many years and enjoyed the company of their semi-annual camping buddies from all over the states at Myrtle Beach Travel Park. She worked various jobs in the past but mainly was a devoted housewife. With a love for animals and nature, Mrs. Walker enjoyed feeding and watching her birds and squirrels and tending to her flowers.
A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM, Monday, June 29, 2026, at Forest Hill Cemetery with Rev. Gavin Pratt officiating.
In lieu of flowers Mrs. Walker requests memorials/donations to be made to the Outreach ministry at North Lexington Baptist Church.
She has now been reunited with all of her loved ones.
