Rose Kepley Finch, 102, died Friday, Dec. 8, 2006, at Brian Center Nursing Care.
A funeral service will be held11:00 AM Wednesday, December 13, 2006 at Bethany United Methodist Church, where she was a member conducted by Rev. Allan Van Meter, Dr. Charles Hutchens, and Rev. Clyde Akers with burial in the Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Finch was born June 16, 1904 in Davidson County to David Lee Kepley and Caroline Hedrick Kepley. On Labor Day Weekend, 1941, Rose moved to Washington D.C. She attended Business Accounting School in Washington and accepted a position in accounting with Peoples Drug Company. After several years, she went to work with the U.S. Treasury Department. Later, she transferred to the U.S. Internal Revenue Service, where she worked as an analyst until her retirement on June 30, 1967. Rose then moved to High Point and returned to Lexington in 1992.
Rose was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Hudson Finch, whom she married on September 26, 1953. She was also preceded in death by her parents; five brothers: Arthur P. Kepley, Grady L. Kepley, John J. Kepley, Robert W. Kepley, and Crawford B. Kepley; and four sisters: Ida M. Workman, M. Ulalah Hunt, Sadie G. Beck, and Daisy B. Smith.
She is survived by her step-son
J. Donald Finch and his wife, Doris, of Leesburgh, FL. 4 step grandchidren and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the Church.
