Rose Herrin Hudson passed away peacefully March 11, 2026, in Lexington, North Carolina. She was 92 years old

Rose was born on Thursday, July 20, 1933, in Mt. Pleasant, North Carolina and was one of five children of James Spenser Herrin and Effie May Eury Herrin. Rose grew up and attended grade school in Mt. Pleasant and Concord areas. In the early 1950’s, she found love and companionship and married William “Bill” Hudson. Together, they moved their family to Florida in the mid 1960’s where they lived for several years. Rose lived a full life, marked by her independence and her zest for life. Later, Rose eventually returned to North Carolina, where she resided permanently after her retirement.

Throughout her career, Rose worked in sales, a field in which she excelled. She had a natural ability to connect with others, and she genuinely enjoyed helping her clients. Her career allowed her to interact with people from all walks of life, leaving a positive impact on those she encountered.

Rose had a passion for staying active and embracing her independence. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, and her presence brought warmth and comfort to those around her. She loved her family dearly and cherished the moments they shared. Rose also embraced her faith and relied on it daily for her strength and purpose in whatever she was doing. Throughout her life, Rose was a faithful servant of her Lord, Jesus.

Along with her parents, Rose is preceded in death by her former husband, Bill Hudson, two brothers and one sister.

She is survived by her son, Gary Hudson; daughter, Alesia Gray; grandchildren, Amy Jarvis, Natalie Hudson, Tyler Hudson, Eric Hudson, Kevin Gray; seven great grandsons and one great granddaughter. She is also survived by her older sister and best friend, Mary Francis Sappenfield.

A celebration of Rose’s life will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, March 21st, at 10403 Linwood Southmont Road, Lexington, NC.

Rose leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and strength. Her memory will be treasured by her family and friends.
