Rose Lanning Kennedy

Rose Lanning Kennedy, age 85 of Linwood Southmont Road, Lexington passed away Friday morning (March 19, 2010) at Lexington Memorial Hospital. She was loved and will be dearly missed by her family and her church family. Funeral service will be 2:00 pm Monday (March 22, 2010) at Central Baptist Church, with Pastor Billy Sloop officiating.  Burial will follow at Stoners Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.   The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Sunday night and at other times at the home.   Rose was born December 01, 1924 to Thomas Lanning and Mary Lanning Lanning.  She was a retired employee of the Dixie Upholstery Plant and a charter member of Central Baptist Church, where she was the oldest member and Sunday school teacher. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Luther H. Kennedy in 1989, son, Nolan Kennedy, great-grandson, Jacob Owle, five sisters and four brothers.   Surviving are; three daughters, Diane King and husband Ray of Thomasville, Peggy Jones and husband Brennis of Lexington and Penny Scott and husband Derek of Southmont; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; one sister Margaret Tetter of Lexington; one brother, George Lanning of Lexington.     Online condolences may be made at www.davidsonfuneralhome.net
