Rosie Cashatt Austin

November 27, 1935 — April 24, 2020

Rosie Cashatt Austin, 84 of Lexington, passed away on Friday, April 24, 2020 at her home.

In order to comply with directives from Governor Cooper’s office, a private memorial service will be held Wednesday, April 29 th in the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by Rev. Ed Armfield, and will be streamed live on the Davidson Funeral Home Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/davidson.funeralhome/

Rosie was born on November 27, 1935 in Randolph County to James Madison Cashatt and Lou Etta Pierce Cashatt.  She retired after 22 years as a teacher’s assistant from Guilford County School System and was a member of Cotton Grove United Methodist Church.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Nolan Austin; and a son, Timmy Austin.

Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Darrell Austin (Terry) of Thomasville, Dale Austin (Gloria) of Climax; daughters, Vickie Boozer (Steve) of Sophia, Sandra Greene (James) of Lexington, Abby Morris (Keith) of Texas; sisters, Pearl Hunt of Reidsville, Christine Tucker of Trinity; 13 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292.
