Rosie Cobler Owens Salmons 89 passed away Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at Danby House. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, February 7, 2014 at Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel with the Rev. Danny Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Forsyth Memorial Park.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 6, 2014 from 6 to 8 PM at Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel.
Rosie was born in Surry County on February 19, 1924 to William Yancy and Laura Ada Noah Cobler. She retired from Hanes Hosiery and was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, James Early Owens and husband Charlie Ray Salmons; a granddaughter, Tammy Hawks; brothers, Gaston, Lewis and J.W. Cobler; sisters, Frances Edward, Irene Collins, Eunice Belton, Beulah Hutchens and Ruth Cheatham.
Surviving are a son, Early Ray Owens of Winston-Salem; daughters, Linda Owens Craven, Brenda Owens Beck (Richard) all of Winston-Salem; sister, Dolly Bonds of Mocksville; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild.
