Roxie Greer Floyd

Roxie Greer Floyd, age 90 of Hedrick Mill Road, Lexington passed away Saturday (2-21-2009) at Piedmont Crossing in Thomasville.  Funeral Service will be held 11:00 am Tuesday (2-24-2009) at Becks Reformed Church, with Rev. Gerald M. Sanders officiating. Burial will follow in Becks Reformed Church Cemetery.   Roxie was born in Davidson County, September 29, 1918 to Isaac Burch Greer and Maie Taylor Greer. She was a homemaker and a member of Becks Reformed Church.  She was preceded in death by her parents, a grandson Anthony Michael Floyd, four sisters, Latiffa Pierce, Maggie Smith, Bertie Greer and Josie Leonard, two brothers, Kiff and Carl Greer.   She was married, December 23, 1939, to her husband of 69 years, Foy D. Floyd who survives of the home; one son, David Floyd of Lexington; two grandchildren, Keith Randall Floyd and Christopher David Floyd; two great-grandchildren, and one sister, Edith Beck of Lexington.   The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 pm Monday night at Davidson Funeral Home.   Memorials may be directed to Becks Reformed Church, Building Fund, 2845 Becks Church Road, Lexington, NC  27292   A special thank you to the caregivers who served Mrs. Floyd at home and at Piedmont Crossing.       Online condolences may be made at www.davidsonfuneralhome.net
