Roy Sials Dickens, age 64, of Lexington, died Friday, February 05, 2010, at Hinkle Hospice House.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday, February 8, 2010, at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Sam Harvey officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, February 7, 2010, at the funeral home.
Mr. Dickens was born June 25, 1945, in Guilford County, to Clyde Eugene Dickens Sr. and Helen Marie Hedgecock Dickens. He was a painter with G & G Personnel and of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are: his wife, Ruby Wright Dickens of the home; one son, Steven Vernon of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; three daughters; Ann Edwards and husband, Ralph, Brenda Glascoe and husband, Kenneth, all of Lexington, and Linda Morgan and husband, Tommy, of Thomasville; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brothers, Clyde Dickens Jr. and wife, Carolyn, Neal Dickens all of Lexington, Charles Dickens and wife, Kaye, Alan Dickens and wife, Judy, both of Thomasville, and Bobby Dickens and wife, Joyce, of Banner Elk; and sisters, Doris Boles of Thomasville, Carrie Baumhaver of Archdale, and Wanda Alexander of Lexington.
