Roy Lee English, Sr. age 82, of Lexington passed away Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at the Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, December 9, 2017 at the Davidson Funeral Home Lexington Chapel with Pastor James Cooper and Pastor Kenny Marshburn officiating. Burial will follow at the House of Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm prior to the service. Mr. English was born in Marlboro County, SC on December 22, 1934 to Eli Thomas English Sr. and Minnie Lee Guinn English. He was a retired Hopper Feeder, having worked for JP Stevens. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Troy Lee English; his daughter, Vadea “Tammy” English; two brothers, Martin J. English and Eli Thomas English Jr.; and three sisters, Eula Blanche Caluder, Mary Helen Williams, and Mildred “DeeDee” Chavis. Surviving are his loving wife, Trudy Smith English of the home; three sons, Roy Lee English Jr. (Tammie) of High Point, Mark Wade English (Christy) of Lexington, and Stacy Mitchell English (Angela) of Lexington; one daughter, Terry Ann Polston (Joe) of Blenheim, SC; twelve grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
