Roy Allen Hankins, 60, of Lexington, passed away Friday, July 5, 2024.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Friday, July 12 at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Sammy Allison officiating. Visitation will be one hour before from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at the funeral home.

Roy was born January 28, 1964 in Martinsville, VA to Fred Allen and Ada Mae Pennington Hankins. He graduated from North Davidson High School in 1982. Roy was employed at Thomas Built Buses for 40 years.

He is preceded in death by his mother Ada Hankins, his sister, Betty Jean Robicheau, and brother-in-law, Tim Love.

Left to cherish his memories is his wife, Jimmie “Elizabeth” Freedle Hankins, his son, Christopher Allen Hankins (Rhonda), his daughters; Magnolia Fields and Catrina Watkins, his sisters; Jackie Vestal (Ralph), and Clara Love (fiancé, Eddie Phillips), and one grandchild, Reuben Hankins, brother-in-law, Eddie Robicheau, nieces; Julie Aker (Jim), Jennifer Craver (Zack), Amanda Crouch (Nathan), and Angie Haynes, nephews; Daniel Love (Debbie), and Jeremy Haynes (Casey), and several great nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express their thanks to the staff at Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center for the caring and compassionate care provided to Roy while he was there.

In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to the Homeless Shelter, and/or Wildlife of NC.
