Mr. Roy Clay Jones, Jr., 55, of Early James Road, died Tuesday, September 21 at his home after an extended illness.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, September 25 from the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Doug McGee. Burial will follow in the Joppa Cemetery in Mocksville.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Friday at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home.
Mr. Jones was born May 29, 1955 in Davidson County to Roy Clay Jones and Irene Webb Jones. He was a former saw-miller and of the Baptist faith. His sister, Eleanor Driver, preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife, Frances Younts Jones of the home; his step-sons, Roger Leonard, Mike Leonard and wife, Tracie, and Barton Leonard, all of Lexington; his step grandchildren, Michelle Burrow, Kelly Leonard, Justin Leonard, and Dustin Leonard, his step great grandchildren, Ricky Burrow, Diana Burrow, and Isaiah Leonard; his brothers, Jason Jones and wife, Melanie of South Carolina, James Dwight Jones and wife, Shelby, of Lexington, R J. Jones, Michael Jones and wife, Kerry, Chuckie Jones, all of Mocksville; and his sisters, Geraldine Hill and husband, Christopher, of Salisbury and Diana Elizabeth Jones of California.
