Roy Lee Key

Roy Lee Key, age 72 of Enterprise Road, Lexington passed away suddenly Friday night at Waccamaw Community Hospital in Murrells Inlet, SC. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Monday at First Baptist Church of Welcome, with Rev. Mark Blair and Rev. James Smith officiating. Burial will follow in First Baptist Church of Welcome cemetery. Roy was born September 26, 1935 in Surry County to Floyd E. Key and Jessie Lee Holyfield Key.  He was a member of First Baptist Church of Welcome, retired manager of H & S Oil Company and for many years, worked for York Oil Company in Mt. Airy. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Linda Walsh. Surviving are; his wife of 56 years, Sally Atkins Key of the home, two daughters; Penny Bowman and husband Gary of Lexington and Vicki Grier and husband Earl of Hemingway, SC, four grandchildren; Brian and Justin Bowman and Winter and Chad Grier, two sisters; Peggy Donathan and Kathy Santschi both of Sanford, three brothers Jimmy Key, Junior Key and Ricky Key all of Sanford. The family will receive friends Sunday night from 6 until 8 pm at Davidson Funeral Home Hickory Tree Chapel and at other times at the home.
