Roy Calvin "Little Mike" Michael, 84, of Oakdale Street, died Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2008, at his home.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Forest Hill Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel by the Rev. Lamar Moore. Entombment will follow.
Mr. Michael was born Jan. 23, 1924, in Davidson County to Ernest Michael and Vallie Yarbrough Michael. He was a retired welder with Local 640. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Marines during World War II. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, RayVon and Connie Michael; and a sister, Jonnie Mae Kinney.
Surviving are his wife, Lucille Tesh Michael, of the home; one son, Roy Steven Michael, and his wife, Betty, of Lexington; two daughters, Patricia Franks and Brenda Tussey and her husband, Sam, all of Lexington; seven grandchildren, Steven Michael, Tyler Michael, Mack Carrick, Keith Younts and his wife, Angie, Chrissy Johnson and her husband, Shawn, Susan Cameron and her husband, Kevin, and Michael Farmer. Also surviving are six great-grandchildren; one brother, Jimmy Michael of Virginia; and three sisters, Geraldine Eastman of Concord, Louise Smith and her husband, John, and Polly Reagan, all of Lexington.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Davidson Funeral Home and at other times at the home.
