Roy "Ted" Theodore Essick

Roy Theodore “Ted” Essick, 70, of Paddington Drive, died Monday, May 22, 2017, at his home.  A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 24, 2017, at Davidson Funeral Home with Preacher Clyde Akers officiating. Inurnment will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service from 10 to 11 a.m.  Mr. Essick was born October 21, 1946, in Davidson County, to Roy Essick and Katherine Koontz Essick. He was owner operator of Essick Auto Sales and Interiors. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his adopted mother Dorothy Essick.  Surviving are his loving wife Nellie Virginia Hege Essick of the home; brothers, Richard Essick and Sonya of Mooresville and Ronnie Essick and Lori of Winston-Salem; and several nieces and nephews.  Memorials may be made to a charity of the Donor’s choice.
