Roy V. Harrison

Roy V. Harrison, age 81, of Alcoa, TN, passed away peacefully Thursday Oct. 15 at Blount Memorial Hospital in Maryville, Tn. Services will be Tuesday, October 20th at 11am at Forest Hill Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel, with the Rev. David Langley officiating, with entombment to follow. Family will receive friends following the service. He was born in Rutledge, GA and lived in Lexington, NC until 1997. He is preceded in death by parents Webb and Estelle Harrison, first wife, Barbara Jean Whitehead Harrison, son Roy Thomas Harrison, brothers James (Bud) Harrison, Leonard Harrison and Jimmy Colston all of Lexington, NC. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Before leaving Lexington, he was a carpenter and home builder. In 1997, he married Mary Ruth Whitehead Moser of Alcoa, TN and they would have been married 18 yrs on Oct. 29th. Survived by wife, Mary Ruth Harrison, daughters and son-in-laws, Evelyn King, and the late Perry King, Debbie Smith and husband Lowell Smith. Grandchildren Shannon and Nathan Arwood, Tamsen and Corey Smith all of Maryville and several great grandchildren. He is also survived by his twin sister Ruby Russell of Douglasville, GA, sister Elizabeth Green and husband Lloyd, special nephew Eddie Lee Thompson all of Lexington, NC and several other nieces and nephews, also special friends and neighbors Sarah and Mark Clevenger of Alcoa, TN.
