Ruby Spears Livingston Alexander

March 19, 1924 — February 6, 2006

Ruby Spears Livingston Alexander, 81, of August Drive, died Monday, Feb. 6, 2006, at Winston-Salem Rehabilitation Center. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, by the Revs. Hoyt Mason and Carl Sutton. Burial will be in Mt. Carmel Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Alexander was born in McDowell County, W.Va., March 19, 1924, to William Thomas Spears and Pearlie Mae Adams Spears. She was a retired employee of Burlington Furniture and a member of Testimonial Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Israel Livingston, and three brothers, Willie Lee Spears, Carl Spears and Garnet Spears. Surviving are her husband, Ray Alexander of the home; one son, Bill Livingston of Lexington; one daughter, Jeanette Heitman and her husband, Rodney, of Lexington; one stepson, Ronnie Alexander and his wife, Gloria, of Easley, S.C.; one stepdaughter, Janice Boone and her husband, Joe, of Clemmons; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 tonight at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, and other times at the home of her daughter, 569 Central Heights.
