Ruby Parker Carrick

January 2, 1929 — April 13, 2023

Ruby Parker Carrick, 94, of Lexington, passed away April 13, 2023, at Pine Acres in Lexington.

A celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, April 16, 2023, at Mt. View Baptist Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Tim Miller officiating. The family will see friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Saturday night at Davidson Funeral Home, and other times at the home.

Ruby was born January 2, 1929, in Davidson County, to William Henry Parker and Josie Parker. Ruby was a devoted member of the church and the church choir for many years, attended Sunday School and the Women’s Missionary. Was formerly employed with Mid State Tile and Owner of Denton Hosiery Mills in Denton. She was a member of the Gideons Women’s Auxiliary. Ruby enjoyed her flowers in the summer and watching the cardinals eat outside her window. Her passion was her faith, church, family and especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, who will be missed by all. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Junior Parker, three sisters, Dot Lanier, Pauline Briggs, and Essie Frank.

Left to cherish her memories are her husband, Mallory W. Carrick of 75 years of marriage, they were the first couple to be married at Mt. View Baptist Church, on February 14, 1948, also surviving are her daughter, Vicki Clodfelter and husband David, son, Tony Carrick and wife Adelia all of Lexington; grandchildren, Chasty James and husband Chad, Jeremy Clodfelter and wife Mandi, Deana Coley and husband Greg, Drue Carrick and wife Carman and Deke Carrick, all of Lexington; great grandchildren, Cayman James, Braxton James, Kambri Clodfelter, Savannah Cutlip, Chandler Carrick, Drake Carrick, Dawson Coley, and Dylan Coley, all of Lexington. The family would like to thank everyone at the Lexington Dialyiss Center for their love and care that they gave Ruby.
