Ruby Rhodes Chappell

Ruby Rhodes Chappell, 94, of Shannon Drive, died Monday, August 26, 2013, at Lexington Health Care, following an extended illness. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, September 1, 2013 at Mt. Tabor United Church of Christ with Rev. Darrell Sluder officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 pm at the church just prior to the service and other times at the home. Mrs. Chappell was born July 1, 1919 in Davidson County to William Edward Rhodes, Sr. and Ella Tysinger Rhodes. She was a homemaker, and a member of Chappell Hill Baptist Church, WMU at Chappell Hill in Tyner, NC. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Moody Lee Chappell, Jr. and a son-in-law, Ralph Horne Surviving are a son, Jerry Chappell (Angelia) of Lexington; a daughter, Angela Horne of Manteo; six grandchildren, Shannon Jarrett (Greg), Justin Horne (Caroline), Tara Horne, Brian Horne (Whitney), Lauren Horne (Jay), Sam Horne; six great grandchildren; a brother, Herbert Rhodes (Reva) of Burlington, and a sister, Carolyn Hunt of Charlotte. Memorials may be directed to the Donor’s choice.
