Ruby Louise Beck Cross, 79, of Lexington, passed away December 4, 2023, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston Salem.
A celebration of her life will be held at 3pm Friday. December 8, 2023, at Beck’s Reformed Church, where she was a member, with Pastor Don McIntyre officiating the service. And burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will see friends one hour before the service at the church.
Mrs. Cross was born May 12, 1944, in Davidson County, to Richard Thomas Beck and Margaret “Paige” Swing Beck. Louise was a devoted member of the church and church family. She was a member of VFW Post 3074 Ladies Auxiliary and American Legion Post 8 Ladies Auxiliary. She loved to go out to eat with her friends, avid soap opera fan, and volunteering with Hospice. She retired from Lexington Memorial Hospital as Material Management. Her passion was her faith, church, family and especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Louise was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister, who will be missed by all. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, William Leo “Bill” Cross who died July 2014, brother, Tony Beck, sister, Gail Smith.
Left to cherish her memories are her son, Scott Cross (Terry) of Southport, daughter, Cindy Cross Hall of Lexington; grandchildren, Crissie (Shandall), Chasanie (Charlton), Danielle (Jesse), Chelsea (Tim), Brac. Also surviving are 8 great grandchildren, brother, Gerald Beck of Lexington.
