Ruby Helms Everhart

Ruby Helms Everhart, 79, of Commercial Boulevard, passed away Tuesday night, April 14, 2009, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at First Reformed United Church of Christ with the Rev. Dr. Walter Patten officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. Ruby was born in Davidson County on Dec. 12, 1929, to Willie Sylvester Helms and Evelyn Kirk Helms. She was a retired employee of The Candy Factory and a member of First Reformed United Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Pam Kepley, who died on Oct. 5, 2000; a grandson, Kris Clinard, who died on July 11, 1998; and a sister, Dean McMahan. Surviving are her husband, James W. Everhart of the home; a daughter, Jamie Everhart, of Lexington; two grandchildren, Kyle Kepley and Kelli Kepley Hill of Lexington; and one great-grandson, Kristian Dean Kepley of Lexington. The family will receive friends at First Reformed Church parlor from 1-2 p.m. Friday, prior to the service, and other times at the home. Memorials should be directed to First Reformed United Church of Christ, 104 E. Center St., Lexington, NC 27292 or to donor's charity of choice.
