Ruby Long Fritts

Ruby Lee Long Fritts, 92, of Helmstetler Road, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, February 10, 2024.

A funeral service will be held at 11 am Friday, February 16th at the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel, by the Revs. Doug McGee and Keith McGee. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 6-8pm Thursday at the funeral home.

Ruby was born January 4, 1932 in Gaston County to Ed Blackwell and Bertha Lee Broome Canup. She retired from Henry Link Furniture and attended Arrington Heights Freewill Baptist Church. Her daughter, Vera Owens, and her son, James Ellington Long, preceded her in death.

She is survived by her daughter, Teresa Smith (Terry) of Salisbury; her sons, Robert Long (Kathy) of China Grove, Michael David Long of Lexington, and Randy Byrd (Vonice) of Florida; her sister, Ruth Duckett of Spartanburg, SC; 19 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren, and 20 great great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Arrington Heights Church Building Fund, 455 Freewill Circle, Lexington NC 27295 or to St. Jude’s, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105.
