Ruby Lee "Boots" Brinkle Gibson

Ruby Lee “Boots” Brinkle Gibson of Lexington, went home to be with her Savior Tuesday, September 03, 2013, at Hinkle Hospice House. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday, September 5, 2013, at First Pentecostal Holiness Church, where she was a member, with Pastor JC Miles officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, September 4, 2013, at Davidson Funeral Home. Mrs. Gibson was born January 15, 1936, in Davidson County, to Quincy Dugan Brinkle and Etta Irene Tysinger Brinkle. She was educated in Lexington City Schools and graduated from Rowan Technical College earning her diploma in cosmetology and all areas of beauty culture. She retired from Lexington Furniture Industries January 30, 1998. After retirement, she devoted her time to attending to two of her precious grandchildren, Chase and Sydney until they started middle school at South Davidson. She loved her Bible study group and treasured Women’s Ministry Group at her church. She truly loved her former pastor, Wayne Knight and his beautiful wife, Irene and her present pastor, JC Miles and wife, Diane. She also dearly loved her children. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Dewey Parks; and son-in-law, Tim Hester. Surviving are her husband, Robert Gibson of the home; children, Dale Ray Parks, Marty Parks and wife Lori, and Kim Hester, all of Lexington, Randall Gibson and wife Lori, Vanessa Hollinger and husband Dean, Robert J. Gibson; grandchildren, Marla, Cynthia and Tim Hancock, Ashley, Brittany and Sydney and Chase Parks, all of Lexington, Maia and James of Lafayette, IN., Whitney, Amanda, and Ryan of Brawley, CA.; great-grandchildren, Brandon and Devan Morris, Megan Snider and Kelly and Erin Hicks, and Alex; brothers, Wayne Brinkle of Churchland and Joel Gates Brinkle of Mesa, AZ.; and several nieces and nephews Memorials may be made to Carolina Cancer Services 25 W. 6th Avenue, Lexington, NC 27292 or Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292.
