“Your sweet smile and loving heart will never be forgotten”
Ruby Sink Leatherman Goodnight, 86, passed away, Tuesday, September 29, 2009, at Forsyth Medical Center, and went to be with her Heavenly Father.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday, October 2, 2009, at Davidson Funeral Home with the Revs. Craig Salter and Darrell Cartrette officiating. Burial will follow at Pilgrim Lutheran Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Goodnight was born February 20, 1923, at Baptist Hospital to J. Carl and Virgie Sink. She was a lifetime member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church. She never met a stranger and loved talking to people. Her family was her life and she loved them dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Johnny Leatherman and Jake Goodnight; and one brother, Von G. Sink.
Surviving are one daughter, Peggy Adkins; grandsons, John Adkins and wife, Renee and Shane Adkins and wife, Mandi, all of Lexington; she had three great-grandsons, Cody Adkins, Chad Adkins, and Alex Adkins; and one great-granddaughter, Emily Adkins. “We love you dearly and will see you in heaven.”
The family would like to say a special thank you to Steve and Tena Yountz and all employees and friends at Smiley’s Lexington Barbecue; Forsyth Medical Center doctors and staff; Connie Motlow, Bruce Hayes and the caretakers at Abbotts Creek Care and Rehabilitation Center.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, October 1, 2009 at the funeral home and other times at the home of Peggy Adkins.
