Ruby Bauguess Grubb, 93 of Brian Center Nursing Home, formerly of T. S. Payne Rd., Lexington died Friday morning in Brian Center Nursing Home after a serious illness of 2 weeks. A funeral service will be Monday, August 15, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Davidson Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Foster and Pastor Dave Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service at Davidson Funeral Home. Mrs. Grubb was born in Wilkes County on June 8, 1918 to Carl Bauguess and Sarah Cothren Bauguess. She was retired from Parkdale Mills and a member of Reeds United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Foy David Grubb; grandson, Timothy B. Grubb; sisters, Dessie Billings, Cora Billings and Tessie Brown; and brother Dee Bauguess. Surviving are sons, David Grubb and wife, Louise, of Linwood, Foy Grubb and wife, Joyce, and Arnold “Butch” Grubb and wife, Dianne, all of Lexington; grandchildren, Tommy Grubb and wife, Joni, Greg Grubb, Donna Sink and husband, Terry, Jennifer Turrentine and husband, Travis, all of Lexington, and Mitzi Tester and husband, Kevin, of Linwood; great-grandchildren, Alex Grubb , Mackenzie Hall, Salem Turrentine, Keaton Turrentine, and Alicen Tester; widow of grandson, Timothy B. Grubb, Cathy Grubb, of Lexington; sister-in-law, Rachel Nance of Lexington; a sister, Phoebe Brown and husband, R.C., of Traphill; and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the Brian Center of Lexington for their 20 months of exceptional care, concern and friendship. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Reeds United Methodist Church, 4731 West Old Highway 64, Lexington, NC 27295; Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292; or a charity of the donor’s choice.
