Ruby Curry Hatley, age 80, of Ridge Road in Lexington, NC passed away Monday January 26, 2015 at her home after an extended illness.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 am Thursday January 29th 2015 at Pilgrim Reformed Church in Lexington, where she was a member, with Rev. Richard Moore officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Wednesday January 28, 2015 at Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington, NC. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park in Lexington, NC.
Mrs. Hatley was born on May 2nd 1934 in Davidson County to Garcie Shepard Curry and Alma Lindsay Curry. She was a loving and caring mother and grandmother and had a passionate love for children. She also enjoyed cooking, baking, and reading magazines. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Charles “Pete” Hatley, four brothers; John Dillard Gilbert, Roy Curry, Donald Wayne Curry, and Ralph Leon Curry, and one sister; Alice Othela Meddaugh.
Surviving is one son, Charles Hatley, Jr. of Winston Salem, NC; one daughter, Pam Hatley Everhart and husband Leroy of Winston Salem, NC; and one Grandson, Adam Tyler Everhart of Winston Salem.
