Ruby Byars Lamb

Ruby Byars Lamb, 80, of Walser Road, died Wednesday June 13 at her home. A graveside service will be at 1:00 pm Saturday, June 16 at Forest Hill Memorial Park by the Rev. Clyde Akers. Mrs. Lamb was born September 4, 1926 in Davidson County to George Washington Byars and Dollie Mae Hinkle Byars. She was retired as co-owner of Lamb’s Grocery and Northside Furniture and was of Baptist faith. She was married to Charles Andrew Lamb who preceded her death. She was also preceded in death by a sister Irene Westmoreland and brothers Glen Byars, Dale Byars, Robert Byars and Van Byars. She is survived by a son, Charles “Andy” Lamb, Jr. of the home, by sisters Illene Purvis of Almyra, Ak and Berry Ann Byars of Lexington. She has three grandchildren, Joseph Lamb, Charlotte S. Lamb and Charles Andrew Lamb, III. She also has nine nieces and four nephews surviving. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Davidson County, PO Box 1941, Lexington, NC 27293.
