Ruby Beck Lanier

Ruby Beck Lanier age 83 of Welcome passed away Saturday October 20, 2012 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home.   A graveside service will be held 11:00 am Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at Center United Methodist Church Cemetery with Dr. Stephen Pillsbury.   The family will receive friends 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Monday, October 22, 2012 at Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel other times at the home.   Ruby was born July 25, 1929 to Jacob “Jake” Calvin Beck and Ruth Welborn Beck. She was a member of Center United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school for many years & was a member of the United Methodist Women. Ruby also served as a Junior Girl Scout Troop Leader. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 61 years John “JC” Claude Lanier. A daughter Claudia Lanier Rapier, a brother Bobby Beck and sister Louise Lyle.   Surviving are her son in law Greg Rapier of Welcome, granddaughters; Ashley Rapier of Concord NC, Jennifer Richardson and husband Shawn of Welcome, her great granddaughters; Carson & Collins Richardson of Welcome, her brothers; David Beck (Pat) of Welcome, Clifton Beck (Lynda) of Midway, Ronnie Beck (Patsy) of Benson NC.   The family would like memorials sent to Center United Methodist Church Christian Fellowship Center.
