It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ruby Leonard of Lexington, North Carolina, who departed this life on February 6, 2026, at the age of 84.

Born on September 4, 1941, Ruby lived a life filled with warmth, love, and cherished moments. Ruby was the daughter of the late Helen Walser (Byerly) and Murphy R. Walser. She also is preceded in death by her brothers Donald Walser and Joe Walser, brother-in-law Jerry Moorefield, sisters-in-law Ruby Walser and Vera Walser, and nephews Tracy Walser and Rodney Walser. Throughout her life, Ruby brought joy and kindness to all who knew her. Her presence was a comfort, and her laughter, a melody. Ruby spent many hours in her flower garden and her vegetable garden that she shared with family and friends.

Ruby is survived by her loving spouse, Bernard Leonard, her daughter, Melinda Leonard, brother Ralph Walser, sister Gayle Moorefield, special aunt Paige Bailey, and a host of nieces and nephews. Ruby's family was the cornerstone of her life, and she treasured every moment spent with them.

Memorial service details will be announced at a later date.

Ruby's memory will be forever etched in the hearts of those who loved her. May she rest in peace.
