Ruby Barnes Tucker

Mary Ruby Barnes Tucker 87 of Charity Lane, died Wednesday November 7, 2007 at Lexington Memorial Hospital after declining health of 5 years. A Funeral Service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel by Timothy Sink. Burial to follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park Ms. Tucker was born April 9, 1920 in Watauga County to John Barnes and Callie Barnes. She was a homemaker. Four children preceded her in death, Mona Carroll Hodge, Beulah Mae Hodge, John Vernon Tucker and Kathy Mahala. Surviving are one son, Ernest “Buddy” Hodge and his wife, Pat, of Denton; four daughters, Audrey Diane Herring and husband, Pat, of Linwood, Margaret Triplett and husband, Joe, of Lexington, Barbara Robinson of Virginia and Christine Gebe and husband, Bobby, of Linwood; 14 Grandchildren: Debbie Testerman, Tammy Long, Donnie Gentry, Dean Gentry, Don Cochran, Randy Hodge, Terry Hodge, Michael Shaw, Timothy Beck, Heather Herring, Brooke Herring, Eric Herring, Kalen Herring and Logan Herring; 16 Great Grandchildren; and six Great- Great Grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Friday at Davidson Funeral Home.
