Rudolph Brown Perdue, age 87 of Lexington passed away Monday morning. Graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday at Salisbury National Historical Cemetery. Burial will follow with military honors. The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Wednesday.
Rudolph was born in Danville, Virginia February 27, 1927. He was a retired employee of Kearn and Roll Rubber in Salisbury and a veteran of the US Army having served in World War II, and received a Purple Heart and Bronze Star. He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Perdue and a brother, Roy Perdue.
Surviving are his daughter, Jennie Hege (Ed) of New Bern; sons, Wayne Perdue (Mary) of Lexington, Toby Perdue (Lisa) of Spencer; 13 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren and a sister Ruby Weatherford of Danville, Virginia.
