Russell Arlen Jones

Russell “Russ” Arlen Jones, 60, of Davidson County, passed away on December 16, 2025. A lifelong resident of Davidson County, Russ was born on July 6, 1965, to the late Ralph Arlen Jones and Barbara Ann Harper Jones.

Russ was a gifted, self-taught musician who found joy and purpose in music. He played guitar, piano, and drums, and he especially loved to sing in churches, using his talents to glorify God. Deeply devoted to his faith, Russ was very active at Life Point Church, where he treasured his church family and lived out his love for Christ. Jesus was his first love, and his faith guided every aspect of his life.

A devoted husband and loving family man, Russ cherished time spent with those he loved most. He was known for his selfless heart, his kindness, and his unforgettable sense of humor—always ready with a laugh and a way to lift the spirits of others. His warmth, generosity, and joy will be remembered by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, Russ was preceded in death by his sister, Teresa Davis.

He is survived by his cherished wife, Angela Jones; his son, Matthew Jones; his step-son, Alex Springer (Shannon); his sister, Sherry Kimbrell (James); his nephew, Scott Thornburg; his nieces, Jamie Hunt (Anthony) and Lisa Short; and his great-nephews, Curtis Waddell and Rylin Wolfe.

A visitation will be held on Monday, December 22, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington. A funeral service to honor Russ’s life will take place on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Nathan Becker, also at Davidson Funeral Home. Livestream for the funeral service will start at 1:50 pm EST. Committal service will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials and donations may be made to the American Heart Association.

Russ’s legacy of faith, music, laughter, and love will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and church family forever.
