Ruth Beck Hedrick

November 17, 1921 — November 25, 2017

Ruth Beck Hedrick, 96, formerly of Jerusalem Road, Lexington, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at Mountain Vista Health Park in Denton.   A funeral service will be held at 2 pm Tuesday, November 28, at Memorial Evangelical and Reformed Church, where she was a member, by the Rev. James Peeler.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.   The family will receive friends following the service at the church cemetery.    Mrs. Hedrick was born November 17, 1921 in Davidson County to Odell Travis Beck and Ethel Foust Beck Hedrick. She was a homemaker and a longtime member of the Home Ext. Club, and volunteered for the Davidson County Board of Elections.  She was a member of Memorial Evangelical and Reformed Church, where she had served as treasurer for the building fund, taught Sunday School and sang in the choir.  Her husband, Harold Foil Hedrick, and her brothers, David Beck and Louis Beck, preceded her in death.    Surviving are her sons, Harold “Buddy” Foil Hedrick, Jr. and wife, Frankie, Steven Odell Hedrick and wife, Sheila, both of Lexington and Philip Travis Hedrick and wife, Paula, of New Bern, NC; her daughter Libby Hedrick O’Shea and husband, Glenn, of Lexington; seven grandchildren; Tina Hedrick-Leonard, Stephanie Saintsing, Chris Garner, Leigh Ann Smith, Joshua Hedrick, Zachary Hedrick, and Ryah Koprowski; 13 great-grandchildren; and her sisters in law; Jo Doris Beck of Thomasville and Jeanne Beck of Lexington.   In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Memorial Evangelical and Reformed Church Cemetery, 3806 Old Hwy 64, Lexington, NC 27292 or to Mountain Vista Health Park, 106 Mount Vista Road, Denton NC 27239.
