Ruth Goss Bourne, 79, of Rowe Road, died Saturday, Dec. 2, 2006, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Trinity United Methodist Church, where she was a member, by the Rev. John Taylor. Burial will be in Forest Hill Memorial Park.
Mrs. Bourne was born May 15, 1927, in Davidson County to John Alexander Goss and Mary Jane Spurgeon Goss. She retired from the cafeteria of Reeds Elementary School. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Calvin Bourne, on July 22, 2002, and by her brothers, Frank Goss and James Goss.
Surviving are four sons, Johnny Bourne of Lexington, Spurgeon Bourne and his wife, Terri, of Welcome, Danny Bourne and his wife, Gina, of Denton and Eugene Bourne and his wife, Teresa, of Reedy Creek; six grandchildren, Karen Bourne, Katie Bourne, Ethan Bourne, Austin Bourne, Angela Bourne and Jeremy Bourne; and a sister, Frances Beeker and her husband, Melvin, of Lexington.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 tonight at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington, and other times at the residence on Rowe Road.
