Ruth Rebecca Shaw Broos, 91, of Piedmont Crossing in Thomasville and formerly of U.S. Highway 64 East in Lexington, died Sunday, Oct. 29, 2006, at Thomasville Medical Center.
A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Forest Hill Memorial Park by the Rev. David Bowman.
Mrs. Broos was born March 25, 1915, in Davidson County to Henry Shaw and Neattie Shaw. She was a homemaker and was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Edward Broos; three brothers, Harold Shaw, Delmar Shaw and Baron Shaw; and three sisters, Evelyn Lee, Lois Siler and Geraldine Frady.
Surviving are three sons, Lowell Thomas Hunt of Thomasville, James Edward Broos and his wife, Mary Neal, of Thomasville, and Jeffrey Lynn Broos and his wife, Kaye, of Cary; a daughter, Connie Hackett and her husband, Rudy, of Greensboro; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Phil Shaw and Bruce Shaw, both of Lexington.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 Tuesday at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington, and other times at the home of the son, Jim Broos, 317 Leona Lane, Thomasville.
