Ruth Fritts Carlton

Ruth Fritts Carlton, age 95 of Lexington, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington.

Burial for Ms. Carlton will be at 10:00 am Friday, May 31 ^st at Forest Hill Memorial Park with a memorial service following at 11:00 am at Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington.  The family will greet friends following the service at the funeral home.

Ruth was born on December 25, 1923 in Davidson County, NC to G. Shirley and Lula Fritts.  She was a charter member of Fairmont Presbyterian Church and before retiring had worked alongside her husband at Carlton’s Wholesale Auto Parts.  Ruth had several hobbies she truly enjoyed including baking homemade cakes and cross-stitching.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dewey Vestal Carlton; daughter, Arlena Carlton Edwards; brothers, S. Ardd Fritts, Ray Fritts and sisters, Juanita Sink, Lucille Musgrave and Laura Young.

Surviving are her daughter, Alma Ruth Carlton; granddaughter, Callie Edwards Warren (Tony); great-granddaughter, Ava Grace Warren; and son-in-law, Maynard Edwards.
