Ruth Sink Corn, 91 of Piedmont Crossing, died Saturday, May18, 2013, at Piedmont Crossing following declining health for several months.
A memorial service will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at First Baptist Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Dr. Ray N. Howell 3rd and the Rev. Tommy Wilson officiating. Inurnment will follow in the church columbarium. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church parlor.
Mrs. Corn was born October 30, 1921 in Davidson County to John A. Sink and Pearl Lopp Sink. She was a life member of First Baptist Church where she was very active in singing with the senior choir, volunteering with Lexington Memorial Hospital, and helping to serve meals on wheels. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Charles “Skinny” Corn who died July 28, 2011.
Surviving are her sons, Milton Vaughn “Micky” Corn and wife, Mary Sue, of Asheville, and Charles Norman “Charlie” Corn and wife, Sue, of Lexington; grandchildren, Tracy Ward and husband, Eric, Emily Powell and husband, Stephen, Shiloh Moore, and Chaz Corn; great-grandchildren, Abby and Elaina Ward, Hunter Moore and Zoe Powell.
