Ruth Evelyn Thomas

Ruth Evelyn King Thomas, 82, of Simerson Rd., Linwood, NC died Friday, March 15, 2013 in Forsyth Medical Center. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday March 19 , 2013 at Higher Ground Baptist Church with Pastor Vardis Rains officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Monday at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home. Mrs. Thomas was born April 20, 1930 in Wampum, PA to Richard King and Frances Holler King. She was homemaker and a member of Higher Ground Baptist Church. Her parents preceded her in death. Surviving are her husband, Gus S. Thomas of the home; two sons, Stewart Thomas and wife, Janet of Salisbury, Darwin Wayne Thomas and wife, Susan of Linwood; a daughter, Janet Patterson and husband, David of Clermont, Fl; five grandchildren, four great grandchildren; two brothers, Roger King of Ellwood City, PA, Earl King of New Gallie, PA and a sister, Shirley Larry of Ellwood City, PA.
