Mrs. Mary Ruth Young Everhart, 79, of Easter Road, died Saturday, December 15 at the Hinkle Hospice House after declining health.
A funeral service was held at 2:00 PM Monday, December 17 2012, at Sheets Memorial Baptist Church, where she was a life time member. Revs. Frankie Matthews and Ethan Woodward officiated services. Entombment followed at the Forest Hill Memorial Park Mausoleum. Ruth was saved in 1945 and served her church and her Lord faithfully through various ministries. She was loved by all, especially her children and grandchildren and she loved her snuff.
The family received friends from 1:00 to 2:00 PM Monday at the church prior to the funeral service.
Mrs. Everhart was born October 12, 1933 in Davidson County to Peter Boylen Young and Ethel Justice Young. She retired from Stanley Furniture and was a member of Sheets Memorial Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister as well as her husband Reid Everhart.
She is survived by her daughters, Tammy Wells and husband, David, of Lexington and Kelly Benge and husband, Mark, of Clayton; two grandchildren Andrew Wells and Savannah Wells both of Lexington, her sisters, Leila Wallace and Elizabeth (Tootie) Simmerson, both of Lexington, and Loretta Goodman and Fannie Trexler, both of Salisbury.
Ruth penned in her diary,
I asked a question whose face will I see when I get to heaven ?
Does it matter? I want to see the face of my savior, the one who died for me.
