Ruth Greer Foust of East Old Highway 64, Lexington passed away Sunday night at Wake Forest Baptist Health in Winston Salem.
Funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm Saturday at Memorial United Church of Christ with Rev. Trudy Irving officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial UCC Cemetery.
The family will see friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Friday at Davidson Funeral Home.
Ruth was born in Davidson County, January 12, 1925 to James Nelson Greer and Velna Younts Greer. She was a graduate of Davis Townsend High School and attended Greensboro Women’s College. She was a member of Memorial United Church of Christ where she served as pianist and organist for many years, served as choir director, member of Women’s Guild, former member of the Consistory, and taught Sunday School. She was a retired Legal Secretary and had worked for several attorneys in Lexington. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Hoyle Franklin Foust who died, March 6, 2009; and her sister, Donese Davis.
Ruth is survived by her daughters; Cheryl Head of Montgomery, AL, Patricia Tweedy and husband Edward of Greensboro and Pam Heye of Raleigh; grandsons, Phillip Tweedy, Jonathan Tweedy and Dr. Eamonn Tweedy and wife Sung Un Kim.
