Ruth Louya Sisk

Ruth Louya Sisk, 79, of Lexington Avenue,Welcome, died Tuesday, June 12, 2007, at Brian Center of Lexington, following 10 months of declining health. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 14, 2007, at Community Fellowship Moravian Church, where she was a member, by the Rev. Jack T. Nance. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park. Mrs. Sisk was born in Davidson County on Nov. 22, 1927, to John Q. Louya and Willie Belle Fritts Louya. She was retired from Lucia Apparel. Mrs. Sisk was married to Elmer Leslie Sisk Sr., who preceded her in death on June 16, 2002. Also preceding her in death are her parents; a brother, Paul Louya; and sisters, Arlene Berrier, Elizabeth Burcham, and Blanche Crotts. Surviving are sons, Darrell Reavis and wife, Karen of Lexington, and Ted Reavis of Kernersville; daughters, Debby Reavis of Winston-Salem, and Robbie Brooks and husband, Jeff, of Welcome; sisters, Beulah Morgan, Betty Shaw, and Barbara Bowers, all of Lexington; five grandchildren, Kathy Epperson, Brandon Reavis, Summer Watson, Savannah Watson, and Sam Watson; two step-grandchildren, Jennifer Hutchins and Jessica Brooks; one great-grandchild, Austin Reavis; and four step-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home of her daughter, Robbie Brooks, 236 Lexington Avenue, Welcome. The family would like to thank her special caregiver, Donna Bivens, for kindness during her illness.
