Ruth Lakey Story

Mrs. Ruth Lakey Story, 99, of Swicegood Road, died Saturday, October 15 at her home.   A funeral service will be held at 2pm Wednesday, October 19 at the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel, by the Revs. Billy Louya and Terry Smith. Burial will follow in the Turrentine Baptist Church Cemetery in Mocksville.    The family will receive friends from 5 to 6pm Tuesday at Davidson Funeral Home.   Mrs. Story was born November 22, 1916 in Forsyth County to W. Gilmer and Mary Beamon Lakey. She retired from Burlington House Furniture and was of the Baptist Faith.  She enjoyed working in her yard and her flowers and was preceded in death by her brothers, John Lakey, Roy Lakey, Rodwell Lakey, and Lester Lakey; and her sisters, Willie Mae Stewart, Pauline Nelms, Frances Corriher, and Margaret Jenkins.    She is survived by her brother, Gilbert Lakey of Salisbury; and her sister-in-law, Nancy Lakey of Linwood.   Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice.   The family would like to thank her special friends and neighbors for their love and support.
