Ruth West

Ruth Shelton West, age 91 of Sunbridge of Lexington, formerly of Hillside Drive, Lexington passed away Monday (12-24-2007) at Sunbridge. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday (12-29-2007) at First Baptist Church Chapel, conducted by Dr. Ray Howell, 3rd and Rev. Tommy Wilson and burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. Mrs. West was born November 08, 1916, in Campbell County, Virginia to Arthur Shelton and Bertha Jennings Shelton. She was the retired owner operator of Ruth’s Stitchery and a member of First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband George R. West and a son Joseph Alvin West. Surviving: Daughter; Brenda Sink of Winston Salem, Sons; Roy C. West and wife Nancy of Lexington, Paul D. West and wife Pat of Winston Salem and Terrell R. West and wife Bobbi of Flat Rock, NC, 14 Grandchildren and 19 Great-Grandchildren, Brother; Clyde Shelton and wife Helen of Clinton, NC and Brother-in-Law; Pete Robertson of Florida. The family will receive friends from 10 until 11 am Saturday at First Baptist Church Parlor and at other times at their respective homes. In lieu of flowers memorials should be made to donors favorite charity.
