Ruth Walker York

Ruth Walker York, 74, of Welcome Bethesda Road, Lexington, died Saturday July 26, 2014 at Hinkle Hospice Home. A funeral service will be held 4:00 pm Tuesday July 29, 2014 at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel with Rev. Angie Jackson officiating services. Burial will follow at Beck’s Lutheran Church Cemetery. Mrs. York was born in November 15, 1939 in Davidson County to Terry Lee Walker and Arlene Curry Walker. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary and was employed with Golden Corral for many years. She was preceded in death by previous husbands, Thomas Avery Story, Guy Edward York, Edward Junior Collins and Raymond Surratt. Surviving are three sons; Terry Surratt and wife Darlene, Jerry Surratt and wife Lynda and Eddie Collins all of Lexington, two daughters; Tammie Sanders and Penny York both of Lexington, one brother; Roscoe Walker and wife Ophelia of Lexington, four sisters; Angie (Anglene) Foster and husband Harold, Patrica Fritts and husband Bobby, Jeannie Harrison and husband Robbie and Janice Ward and husband Vernon, all of Lexington, as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren.
