Sadie Gobble Hemphill, 93 of West Fifth Street, Lexington died Wednesday morning in Alston Brook Nursing Home.
Mrs. Hemphill was born in Guilford County September 15, 1912 to Noah Gobble and Eva Dorsett Gobble. She was a homemaker, member of Christ United Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband James Raymond Hemphill, a daughter Doris Elizabeth Hemphill, brothers Lester Gobble and wife Ruth, Odell Gobble and wife Louise, James Gobble and Clyde Dorsett, and sister Betty Christine Fults and husband Haskell.
Survivng are her daughter Betty Pope and husband Bob of Lexington; grandchildren; Lori Bagby Little of Durham and Rick Bagby and wife Jennifer of Clemson, SC great-grandchildren; Kenan Taylor Little, Payton Neal Bagby and
Taylor Griffin Bagby and a sister; Sarah Berrier of Coco Beach, Florida.
The funeral service will be conducted 11:00 AM Friday (April 14, 2006)in the Davidson Funeral Home Lexington Chapel by Rev. John Ferree. Burial will follow in the Ebenezer United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 PM Thursday at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel and at other times at the home of her daughter Betty Pope, 232 Shawnee Road, Lexington.
